THE AUCTION CATALOG

Why would I lie? It will be the most wonderful night of your life, perhaps of all life on the planet. There’s a voice in your head whispering this message: Transmute the ringer you’ve been through this year to three-part delight at a revelatory reading/party/auction. You deserve to be at the throwdown for LUNGFULL! magazine. To celebrate the annual anthology of terrible mistakes with a night of even worse ones — the kind of messy disasters that are the swiftest route to sweet jouissance. But of all the terrible mistakes that night, the only one you should not make is failing to come.

LUNGFULL! magazine is the only compilation of contemporary poetry that prints rough drafts alongside final versions so you see the creative process as it happens. And assuming mistakes will continue to happen, the cover is 100% waterproof — perfect for reading while inebriated or in the shower or both. Energized by the efforts of over eighty people, this issue is as intellectually rigorous, aesthetically adventurous, and wildly experimental as it is amusing. The energy many endeavors devote to branding and commodification, we give over to entwining a host of emerging and established writers across myriad literary traditions. www.lungfull.org/event has a great deal more information.

DIRECTIONS: Subway ACEBDF to W 4th Street, NR to 8th Street. Commandeered drone from Afghanistan to downtown Manhattan. Student Debt from NYU. Hazy gambol from drinking earlier. Stroller from Park Slope. Stupid facial hair from Bushwick. Boosted car from Newark. Totally not illegal Fnug Wha bus from other cities. Russian meteor from Space. Pomegranate from hell. DeLorean from 1985.

$10-20 sliding scale admission. $20 gets you in plus a copy of the new issue.
All funds raised go towards the humungous printer bill. It is awe-inspiring.

2. RAUCOUS AUCTION

Barked by Todd Colby. Items presented by Tracey McTague. The equatorial heat version of a chilly silent auction or the demure goings-on at Sotheby's — people will be leaping from their seats, yelling at each other when the bidding heats up. Yelling terrible, terrible things in languages that do not yet exist. (And then after, buying each other a drink named for the dirty things they just called each other.) We accept credit cards, especially stolen ones.

3. INSURRECTIONIST RELEASE GALA Hosted by the Lungfull Editorial Action Go Team. Meet the thoughtforms who make the magazine and do terrible things to them, just as they have done to poetry. Meet the contributors and offer your condolences on having been printed by Lungfull. Impair your judgment through whatever means seem most applicable and permit yourself to speak/act on wild impulse. It will be intimate and expansive / untoward and proper / half end-of-the-world half start-of-a-new-one / goodnight moon meets hello kitty / a midnight picnic on interstate 10's refinery alley / as if a million voices cried out in terror and then — it turns out Alderon was just fine / like if the Coen & Zucker Brothers had kids with the Andrews & Kardashian sisters and nobody could tell whose were whose but you had to play MFK with them all for realz / It will put to shame all prurient experiences you have ever has and demolish all the old vice/virtue dualities.
